Question of the Week

What are some new ways you can love others this week?

Journal

  • As I get older, I become younger.

  • Is professional wearing a suit and a tie? Or is professional wearing those weird socks and being yourself?

  • Instagram is actually doing surveys for major brands directly in the app at the top of people’s feeds.

  • The amount of involuntarily taking up of people’s thoughts that much of advertising aims to do these days is, in my opinion, a health hazard. I feel it is, to put it mildly, an invasion.

  • Aren’t these companies big enough already? Aren’t they making enough money?

  • If advertising can do a better job with matching up the ads to the person’s needs, I’m all for it. But to show the same insurance commercial over and over again on the same episode of the same show on Hulu feels like that’s when it becomes a hazard.

  • And the lack of representation in the advertising world, I.e., not having commercials including those with down syndrome, is extraordinary.

  • Many companies think, “oh, these aren’t our customers yet, this isn’t what the data shows, so we don’t include them.” Wrong answer.

  • Put humanity over data, advertising.
